Off Shore Experience
Custom
Sportswear's huge strength is our ability to manufacture
off shore within our own factory. Employing 30 to 40
people.
·
The managing director of our off shore factory has been
producing fabric for the international market for 23
years, specialising in cotton, polyester, and poly cotton
mix, duties include material manufacture, pattern making,
printing, embroidery, heat pressing, garment construction,
inventory and freight.
·
We produce all our own fabrics within our own factory
thus eliminating all middlemen. This allows us total
control of stock levels and the manufacture of garments
at far better price points.
·
Just some of the materials we produce include, cotton
and polyester lycra, aerolite, microfibre and several
grades of footy fabrics, cool dry materials and pique
knit fabrics.
·
Our offshore factory holds contracts for the production
of jockey's underwear.
·
The majority of deliveries from our overseas factory
are sent airfreight with on 3 days factory to factory.
Factory Equipment
When setting up Custom Sportswear, we knew through our
own hard-earned experience within the garment industry,
that anything can happen and usually does. For this
reason we have put in place a back up system for every
conceivable situation and machine.
Within our local factory we have all the machinery and
personnel required to produce any sublimation or logo
application order. These machines and the personnel
to run them are mirrored in our offshore factory. In
other words - two fold.
We consider this so important we often have idle machines
in our factory to enable us to handle any emergency.
Local Suppliers - on occasion we will use local
suppliers for such garments as pique knit polo shirts
and cotton tee shirts. Local suppliers are useful when
a club requires the minimum quantity of garments on
a regular basis.
But all efforts will be made to custom manufacture all
apparel.
Sub Contractors - Custom Sportswear has based
the operation of its factory and in fact the whole set
up of its business on the concept that the fewer sub
contractors involved in the manufacturing process the
better. If we employ the people, we can always be in
total control of all your orders, with no need to rely
on people that we don't control.
The one area that we will need to use sub contractors
in is if a team or association requires Australian made
product. Due to the financial burden of having a trained
seamstress employed and not busy, we have a contract
with a local sewing company that:
·
Have been making garments for the sportswear, corporate
and school markets for over 15 years.
·
Have been producing a wide range of garments specializing
in pattern making and garment construction.
·
Has access to over 30 sewing staff at any one time and
have the ability to turn orders around immediately for
Custom Sportswear.
